Book Review: All That Jazz

After a long break and a nice vacation, I want you today to present a book. All That Jazz is a fun and interesting book about the history of jazz. Me as a "beginner" it has really helped to understand the context and chronology and trace the development from its beginnings in the southern United States in the 19th century to the present. The book is written in my opinion, very refreshing. A couple of biographies of jazz legends are described in great detail and go into the deep, in others I would have liked more contrast depth. There are numerous references throughout the book to other literature, biographies, etc. I've got here really fancy going to read a biography or other well, which of course primarily saxophonists Stan Getz, for example. In the appendix there is incidentally a very comprehensive index of persons, literature and recommendations for the various eras Hörempfehlungen. All in all, really worth reading.

A history of jazz from its origins in the folklore and black Americans in the entertainment districts of New Orleans, about the great big band swing to jazz to rock and other varieties of jazz in the 80s and 90s. Michael Jacobs presentation teaches about the different styles and playing techniques, the life stories of famous musicians and legendary recordings and performances. Many anecdotes and numerous photos to loosen the belt.
