Many people know his songs, but few know the man behind it - Irving Berlin, composer of over 1,000 pieces. Through a play-along book almost accidentally pushed it, I'm busy myself with the songs of Irving Berlin even closer.

Born Israel Isidore Beilin in 1888 as the son of immigrant parents Belarusian he had after the untimely death of his father's early care of the livelihood of his family. He tore the age of 14 from home, working as a "Singing Waiter" and taught himself the piano playing. More about his life can be found at Wikipedia , in an obituary in Time magazine's death Irving Berlin ("America's master songwriter") on 22.09.1989 at the age of 101 years and in the Songwriters Hall of Fame .

Many of the songs of Irving Berlin standards and have since been sung by the sizes of showbiz and played. He also had some Broadway shows and has written for many films, the film music. Some examples of Irving Berlin standards:
